Creative Process Workshop

In this seminar geared towards student performers and composers, Virago leads a workshop on its commissioning processes. Often including Virago’s past collaborators, participants will learn how to work closely through the commissioning process in mutually beneficial relationships that produce impactful results.  

Portfolio Careers in Music Panel

Hear from each member of Virago about how they are navigating life after graduation and filling their unique portfolio careers with various activities and income streams. Virago will also offer a look behind the scenes into Virago’s own approach to managing their LLC. 

Composition Workshop

Virago workshops student pieces in private or masterclass settings, offering feedback on topics such as orchestration for mixed quartet, use of extended techniques, and incorporating room for performers to make decisions and improvise.     

Improvisation Forum

Bring your instruments! In the pedagogical lineage of Ed Sarath, Virago will lead participants through an hour of music making through improvisation and listening. Open to all ages and experience levels.   

Contemporary Chamber Music Coachings and Masterclasses

Each member of Virago is a versatile performer, working in a variety of contexts and genres. Virago offers both public contemporary chamber music masterclasses as well as private coachings for student ensembles.
